LONDONDERRY — Charles Howard Brower, 80, of Londonderry, died Sunday (April 15, 2001) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge.

He was born May 18, 1920, in Londonderry Township, son of the late Joseph B. and Ida Pearl (Hunt) Brower.

Mr. Brower was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II.

He leaves two cousins, H. Blair Stewart of Center and Charles Dwight Stewart of Grove City; good friends, David, Judy and N.J. Rossiter of Byesville.

Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bond Funeral Home, Londonderry, with services to follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Karen Upson officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset View Cemetery, Londonderry. Military graveside services will be conducted by Guernsey County Veterans Council.

CENTRAL, S.C. — Richard “Dick” Leslie Park, 68, of Clemson, died Saturday (April 14, 2001).

He was a native of New Concord, Ohio, son of the late Alfred J. and Marjorie D. (McCormac) Park.

Mr. Park was a former employee of Milton and Greg’s Barber and Style Shop in Seneca.

He leaves his beloved wife of 48 years, Lauretta (Younkman) Park of the home; three sons, Alan (Sari) Park of Houston, Texas, Bill Park of Clemson and K.C. (Elaine) Park of Liberty; two daughters, Mrs. Dave (Terry) Rintoul of Clemson and Mrs. Eddie (Tammy) Landry of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Robert (Jody) Park of Columbus; 10 grandchildren, Joey, Jennifer, Alisha, Jonathan, David, Joshua, Lauren, Alex, Sean and Kimberly.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, where services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to an academic scholarship fund at Clemson University.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, for Peggy Jolene Coen, 61, of Cambridge, who died Saturday (April 14, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center.

The Rev. Veronica Rice will officiate. Burial will be in Guernsey Memory Gardens.

She was born June 7, 1939, in Pleasant City, daughter of the late Roy and Pauline (Whiting) Clewell.

Mrs. Coen was a homemaker and a Protestant by faith.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and an infant daughter.

She leaves her husband, Delmer Coen of Cambridge;  a daughter, Peggy Elizabeth Tuckosh of Cambridge; seven sisters, Vicky Jacobs  and Patsy McElroy both of Byesville, Dixie Parker of Rittman, Betty James  of Akron, Norma Beatty and Marilyn Branham, both of Jackson, and Melva Rae  of Maryland; two brothers, Buster Clewell of Byesville and Sonny Clewell of Barberton; several nieces and nephews; and a close and dear friend, Sharon  Coulson.

NEWCOMERSTOWN — Roberta Silverthorn, 55, of Newcomerstown, died Sunday (April 15, 2001) at Mount Carmel East Medical Center, Columbus.

QUAKER CITY — Graveside services and burial were Saturday at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City, for Mary C. Brownfield, 90, of Quaker City, who died Thursday (April 12, 2001) at Barnesville Health Care Center.

The Rev. Gene Miller officiated the service.

She was born April 6, 1911, in Noble County, daughter of the late Wesley and Isaphene (Stephen) Giesey.

She was preceded in death by hr husband, Stewart Brownfield, who died Feb. 25, 2000; six brothers, Herbert, Roy, Joe, Harold, Rodney and Dale; four sisters, Bertha Deal, Eliza Parsons, Mable Wehr and Jessie Long.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Joan) Keenan of Mt. Gilead and Mrs. Paul (Patricia) Daniels of Barnesville; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Quaker City, was in charge of the arrangements.

Martha Jane (Coleman) Rogers, 81, of Cambridge, died Sunday (April 15, 2001) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born April 14, 1920, in Cambridge, daughter of the late James Samuel and Allie Wilda (Erven) Coleman.

Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and several years ago served as a waitress at American and Swan Restaurants.

She was a member of VFW Post 2901 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a 1940 graduate of Brown High School and a friend of the First Baptist Church, Cambridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley F. Rogers, who died in 1997. They were married May 16, 1943. Also deceased are a brother and a sister.

She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Bryce (Barbara) Simmons of Cambridge; grandchildren, Troy and Carol Simmons of Cambridge, Todd Simmons of Columbus and Tara and Chip Weisgerber of Urbana; two great-grandchildren, Zackary and Mackenzie Simmons; several cousins; a niece and nephew.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, with services to follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Kimbolton Cemetery, Kimbolton.

CALDWELL — Joseph E. Snider, 52, of Caldwell, died Saturday (April 14, 2001) at his home following an extended illness.

He was born Sept. 1, 1948, in Caldwell, son of the late Edwin and Edna (Warner) Snider.

Mr. Snider was a 1967 graduate of Caldwell High School and was a former member of the Boy Scouts of America.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He had formerly worked as a carpenter and was a tool and die maker for Dana Corp. of Caldwell.

He was an active member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell, the Fr. Kluber Council Knights of Columbus in Caldwell and was a 4th Degree Knight.

He leaves his wife, Linda M. (Hountz) Snider, whom he married in October 1975; three sons, Alex Joseph, Brian Edward and Anthony Laurence Snider, all of Caldwell; three sisters, Mrs. Francis (Norma) Arnold and Mrs. Rodger (Joan) Willey, both of Caldwell, and Mrs. Lloyd (Rita) Crum of Marietta; a brother, Tom (Linda) Snider of Old Fort, N.C.; his father and mother-in-law, Larry and Betty Hountz of Caldwell; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family being present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell, where Christian Scripture services will be 8:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Dale Tornes and the Rev. Fr. Samuel Saprano serving as celebrants.

Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Caldwell. Military graveside services will be conducted by Caldwell VFW Post 4721 and Belle Valley American Legion Post 641.
