Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Scott Funeral Home, Cambridge, for Mary D. Gravens, 66, of Cambridge, who died Monday, (April 23, 2001) at her home.

Pastor Jerry Blankenship will officiate. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born Jan. 5, 1935, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Charles H. and Agnes (Blair) Fife.
Mrs. Gravens was a nurse’s aid and a member of Eagles Auxiliary and Women of the Moose.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Fife.

She leaves her husband, John W. Gravens of Cambridge; two sons, Maurice (Margaret) Waddell and William Waddell, both of Cambridge; a daughter, Mrs. Dwaine (Spring) Black of Cambridge; three sisters, Agnes Baker of Cambridge, Alice Miller of Kimbolton, and Rose Stackhouse of New York; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

NEW CONCORD — Robert L. “Woody” Woodrum, 53, of New Concord, died Monday (April 23, 2001).

He was born Oct. 23, 1947, in Boone County, W.Va., son of Dula Kerns of Fairmont, W.Va.

Mr. Woodrum operated Woody’s Truck Repair in Cambridge, and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War.

He attended Christian Life Church, Cambridge.

He leaves his wife, Stephanie (Grimes) Woodrum, whom he married Aug. 8, 1998; a son, Kevin (Etta) Woodrum, serving in the U.S. Army in Germany; a half-sister, Kim Kerns of Charleston, W.Va.; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11 to 1 p.m. Friday at Mock-Miller Funeral Home, New Concord, where services will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Mike White I will officiate.

Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, New Concord.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Terry Mowrey, 56, of St. Clairsville, died Wednesday (April 18, 2001) at his home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1944, in Neffs, son of the late Herman and A. Katherine Lynn Mowrey.

Mr. Mowrey was a retired teacher. He served as a former athletic director and coach for Beallsville, Meadowbrook and St. Clairsville schools.

He was a graduate of West Virginia University, where he was Southern Conference champion of the pole vault. He earned a master’s degree in secondary administration from Xavier University.

He was OVAC Track “Coach of the Year” for Meadowbrook High School. He was a former athletic director and assistant football and assistant track coach for St. Clairsville.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Ann Wasco.

He leaves his wife, Carol Wasco Mowrey; a daughter, Mrs. Rob (Jennifer) Fischer of Kent; a son, Jeff (Stefanie) Mowrey of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, Herman and Sidney Mowrey, all of San Gabriel, Calif.; a granddaughter; his father-in-law, Ed Wasco of West Bellaire.

Calling hours and services were in St. Clairsville.

Burial was in Belmont Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

BARNESVILLE — Branson Timothy Papai-Hess, infant son of Timothy Ryan Hess and Allison Marie Papai, died Monday (April 23, 2001) at Wheeling Park Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harry Hess.

He is survived by his maternal great-grandmother, Margaret Papai of Wakeman; maternal grandparents, Alex Benjamin and Connie Papai of Nevada; paternal grandmother, Sandy Hess of Barnesville.

Visitation will be 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, Barnesville, where services will follow at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Frank Ledvinka will officiate.

Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville.
