ELLABELLE HEADY SERVICES
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, for Ellabelle Heady, 72, of Derwent, who died Monday (April 2, 2001) at Cleveland Clinic.
The Rev. Raymond Grudier will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Derwent, daughter of the late Evan David and Ruth (Call) Hively.
Mrs. Heady was a former employee of the former Guernsey Memorial Hospital, having worked in the medical records department for many years.
She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 227, Pleasant City, and was a Protestant by faith.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Melba Deloris Hively; three brothers, Thomas Call Hively, Herbert Lee Hively and David Dale Hively.
She leaves her husband, Lewis H. Heady, whom she married Nov. 15, 1947; two daughters, Mrs. Dana (Beth Ann) Cleland of Katy, Texas, and Mrs. Richard (Mary Lynn) Brace of Sugarland, Texas; a son, Lewis (Barbara Ann) Heady of Pleasant City; two sisters-in-law, Sherry Hively of Cambridge, and Gloria Gay Upstain of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Dean Hively of Pleasant City; her aunt, Ina Mae Betts of Fairborne; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
MARJORIE P. ECKELBERRY
1914-2001
WOODSFIELD — Marjorie P. Eckelberry, 86, of Graysville, died Thursday (April 5, 2001) at Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Dec. 21, 1914, in San Antonio, Texas, daughter of the late Robert C. and Florence Hamilton.
Mrs. Eckelberry was a Methodist by faith.
She leaves her husband, Warren Eckelberry of Graysville; two sons, Warren “Bud” Eckelberry Jr. and Martin Eckelberry both of Graysville; a daughter, Terri Shoulp of Cleveland; a sister, Iris Tincotti of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
KATHRYN E. PRUTTON
1910-2001
NEWCOMERSTOWN — Kathryn E. Prutton, 91, a resident of Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newcomerstown, for the past two years, formerly of Bay Village, Cuyahoga County, died Wednesday (April 4, 2001) at the center.
She was born Jan. 29, 1910, in Ada, Hardin County, daughter of the late Earl D. and Mabel I. (Packer) Welty.
Mrs. Prutton was a 1928 graduate of Ada High School and a 1931 graduate of Ohio Northern University, Ada, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. She took courses to obtain her teaching certificate and taught in the Sheffield School system in Lorain County. Later she taught junior high math for many years at Westlake City Schools, Cuyahoga County.
She retired in 1971 from Westlake schools.
She was a member of National Education Association, Ohio Education Association, and Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of Bay (Village) United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as church organist.
She was a member of River Chapter 517, Order of Eastern Star, Rocky River. She enjoyed traveling to Canada and Florida, reading and participating in book review clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester J. Prutton, on May 21, 1974. They were married Nov. 9, 1935. She was also the last member of her generation of the Welty family, having been preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, Louella Welty Paplyk, Dorothy Welty Eyerdam, Jesse G. Welty, Earl D. Welty Jr. and William F. Welty.
She leaves two daughters, the Rev. Carl L. and Mrs. Dorothy L. Gray of Dover, and Mrs. Budd G. (Nancy K.) Prutton of The Woodlands, Texas; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Ourant Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl L. Gray will officiate.

Graveside services and burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Kimbolton Cemetery, for Myrtle (Combs) Watson, 85, of Kimbolton, who died Thursday (April 5, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.
The Rev. Timothy Tesch will officiate. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge.
She was born Oct. 4, 1915, in Eskdale, W.Va., daughter of the late Byran L. and Lilla Mae (Payne) Combs.
Mrs. Watson was a homemaker and also worked at Darrah Trucking Co., Akron.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Darrah; her second husband, George L. Watson, on Feb. 22, 1991; two brothers; and a grandchild.
She leaves two sons, James H. Darrah of Akron, and Bryan L. Darrah of Kimbolton; and six grandchildren.

TROY — Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Dexter City United Methodist Church, Dexter City, for Norna Eileen Hutcheson, 77, of Dexter City, who died Friday (March 16, 2001) at Northwest Ohio Hospice, Perrysburg, following a short illness.
The Rev. Kevin Lauer will officiate. Burial will follow in Dexter City Cemetery. Family will receive friends immediately following services.
She was born July 2, 1923, in Dexter City, daughter of the late Loren and Icel (Gardner) Hutcheson.
Mrs. Hutcheson retired from Fleeman Motors, Caldwell, where she served as a secretary. She was a member of Dexter City United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Father Robert Borer will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Byesville.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Black Family Funeral Service, Byesville. A wake service will be 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born March 26, 1916, in Robins, daughter of the late George and Anna (Sabol) Berilla.
Mrs. Klobucar had worked in the child-care field in the Cleveland area. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Klobucar, on March 26, 1973; and two brothers, Mike and George Berilla.
She leaves a brother, Wilburt Berilla of Cleveland; a sister, Helen Dancek of Michigan; a sister-in-law, Frances Boyer of Frankenmuth, Mich.; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews; and a close friend, Mrs. Jim (Sharon) Hayes of Cambridge.

CADIZ — Mabel M. Richards, 64, of Cadiz, died Thursday (April 5, 2001) at Trinity Medical Center, West, Steubenville.
She was born April 29, 1936, in Kenwood, daughter of the late Amos and Anna (Bailey) Barnhart.
Mrs. Richards was a homemaker and a member of Word of Truth Church in Cadiz.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Ferrell.
She leaves her husband, Perl “Porky” Richards of Cadiz; three sons, Terry Simms and Gary Simms both of West Frankfort, Ill., and Larry Simms of Danville, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Ernie (Sherri) Mansfield of Cadiz; seven grandchildren; a step-daughter, Vicki Hughes of Naples, Fla.; six step-grandchildren; five brothers, Louis Barnhart of Benton, Ill., Ronald, Richard and Ralph Barnhart, all of Cadiz, and Raymond Barnhart of Zanesville.

WILLIAM ‘BUCKEYE’ SMITH
1924-2001
BARNESVILLE — William Robert “Buckeye” Smith, 76, of Barnesville, died Thursday (April 5, 2001) at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1924, in Barnesville, son of the late George E. and Hazel B. (Connell) Smith.
Mr. Smith was a Protestant by faith. He was a retired carpenter and mason, having worked for area contractors for many years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 100th infantry division, having served in World War II.
He was a member of Barnesville VFW Post 2792 and Barnesville American Legion Post 168.
He leaves his wife, Martha (Kearns) Smith; a sister, Eileen McLaughlin of Sistersville, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews; a special granddaughter, Lori Keylor, who is serving in the U.S. Navy.
Graveside services and burial will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville, with the Rev. Gene Miller officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by Belmont County Council VFW.
