NEW CONCORD — Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday
at Mock-Miller Funeral Home, New Concord, for Helen F. O’Connell,
81, of Cambridge, formerly of Lancaster, who died Friday (Feb. 16, 2001)
at Genesis-Good Samaritan Medical Center, Zanesville. The Rev. Dr. Ronald Fleming will officiate. Burial
will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Lancaster. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral
home. She was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Amsterdam, daughter
of the late James and Rose (Hamilton) McCorkle. Mrs. O’Connell was a Methodist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, William
E. O’Connell, on July 10, 1995; two sisters, Mabel Urdock and Evelyn
Baxter; two brothers, Ed McCorkle and Donald McCorkle. She leaves two sons, Dennis (Barbara) O’Connell
and Larry O’Connell, both of Cambridge; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Albert Cepec services BYESVILLE — Graveside services and burial
will be will be noon today at Huntington Cemetery, Huntington, for Albert
Cepec, 90, of Cumberland, who died Thursday (Feb. 15, 2001) at Southeastern
Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. Pastor Mark Gostlin will officiate. He was born March 12, 1910, in Ava, son of the late
Albert and Mary (Hoyock) Cepec. Mr. Cepec was a self-employed carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern (Thudium)
Cepec, on Aug. 3, 1996. They were married March 12, 1949. Also deceased are
two brothers, John and Mike Cepec; and two sisters, Marge and Marie Cepec. He leaves a daughter, Delores Cepec of Cleveland;
a brother, Joe Cepec of Cleveland; three grandchildren; and five-great-grandchildren. Black Family Funeral Services, Byesville, is handling
the arrangements. (Paid re-run) JULIA F. FETZKO Julia F. Fetzko, of Cambridge, died Saturday (Feb.
17, 2001) at The Beckett House, New Concord. She was born in Cambridge, daughter of the late
John and Mary (Yurco) Yurco. Mrs. Fetzko was a homemaker and a member of St.
Benedict Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George
Fetzko; a son, William L. Fetzko; two sisters, Ann Balaban and Margaret Montgomery;
three brothers, William, Steve and John Yurco. She leaves a sister, Helen Gutantes of Standford,
Conn. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Scott
Funeral Home, Cambridge. Wake services will be 6 p.m. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Benedict
Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cambridge. MYRON G. ELLIOTT 1920-2001 NEW CONCORD — Myron G. Elliott, 80, of New
Concord, died Sunday (Feb. 18, 2001) at Genesis-Bethesda Hospital, Zanesville,
following a brief illness. He was born June 3, 1920, in Rix Mills, son of the
late Perl and Jeanette (Forsythe) Elliott. Mr. Elliott was a farmer and retired from the U.S.
Postal Service. He was a member of Rix Mills Presbyterian Church, and the
Ohio Cattlemen’s Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was a former member
of the John Glenn High School Athletic Boosters. He was preceded in death by a brother, R. Kenneth
Elliott. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Mary Louise (Hague)
Elliott, whom he married May 28, 1944; two daughters, Judith Elliott of Italy
and Susan Elliott of New Concord; three sons, Gary Lee (Patty) Elliott of
Waco, Texas, and Paul Elliott and Allen “Charlie” (Kathy) Elliott,
both of New Concord; six grandchildren, Curtis Elliott, Angela Elliott, Brian
Elliott, Tony Fox, Amy Fox and Mirco Peyronnel. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday
at Mock-Miller Funeral Home, New Concord. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rix Mills Presbyterian
Church with the Rev. Dr. Rollin “Chip” Steele officiating. Burial will be in Salt Creek Cemetery, near Rix
Mills. (Paid) GERTRUDE B. JACKSON 1917-2001 WOODSFIELD — Gertrude B. Jackson, 83, of Woodsfield,
died Saturday (Feb. 17, 2001) at Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Dec. 1, 1917, in Monroe County, daughter
of the late James F. and Clara Bell (Winland) Norris. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Neuhart Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis
Jackson, on Dec. 19, 1994; two daughters, Delores and Mary Jane; five brothers;
and two sisters. She leaves a son, Sonny Jackson of Woodsfield; two
daughters, Judy Hughes of Woodsfield and Betty Murphy of Akron; a sister,
Lena Goon of Ashland; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bauer-Turner
Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Neuhart Cemetery, near Woodsfield. VIRGINIA A. KETTLEWELL 1923-2001 NEW CONCORD — Virginia A. Kettlewell, 77,
formerly of New Concord, died Friday (Feb. 16, 2001) at Colorado State Veterans
Nursing Home, Walsenburg, Colo. She was born Sept. 16, 1923, in St. Louis, Mo.,
daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Leona (Mettlemeyer) Meyer. Mrs. Kettlewell was a retired bookkeeper and secretary.
She was a former member of College Drive Presbyterian Church. She was a member
of American Legion and VFW Auxiliary. She was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World
War II. She was preceded in death by her husband, William
Dwight Kettlewell; and two brothers, Kenneth L. Meyer and Leon Meyer. She leaves four sons, Frank E. Kettlewell of Golden,
Colo., Steven Kettlewell Crain of Casper, Wyo., William N. Kettlewell of Zanesville,
and George W. Kettlewell of Littleton, Colo.; two daughters, Linda K. Flowers
of Cumberland and Brenda F. Tweedy of The Woodlands, Texas; 22 grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Durham of Overland, Mo. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mock-Miller
Funeral Home, New Concord, where services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday with the
Rev. Dr. Kenneth Kettlewell officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
